Kingsday is always a busy day in Eindhoven. That’s fun, but numbers reveal that pickpockets strike most often during big events. Wallets and phones are stolen most often. The number of declarations on Kingsday is much higher than on a regular saturday. It’s a tradition for pickpockets to steal during this day. So keep your belongings safe and don’t give them a chance!

Are you traveling to the city by bike during Kingsday? Great idea, but make sure that you park it somewhere safe. Bikes are stolen quick and a lot, especially during Kingsday. Make sure your bike is safe by using two locks and putting it in a (free) bicycle storage. For an overview of all these locations and their opening hours please check This is Eindhoven.

Are you under 18? Then drinking or buying alcohol is prohibited, also during Kingsnight and -day! The authorities keep an eye on this. There is a fine when you decide to violate these rules. Selling alcohol to people under 18 is also prohibited and will be punished with the same fine.

Alcohol is prohibited in all trains and stations around The Netherlands during Kingsday. This prohibition means you can’t take any drinks that contain alcohol. Stores on the stations also don’t sell these.
